CCS Same Day Sealer is a ready to use specially modified resin and solvent based acrylic sealer, designed for same day application to freshly poured concrete.
Note: CCS Same Day Sealer is not a diluted version of CCS Hardseal. CCS Same Day Sealer is formulated using a soft acrylic resin purposely made for application to wet concrete surfaces. In addition to this special resin, slow drying solvents are utilised to provide greater tolerance to moisture in the slab.
A relatively high resin content is also used in Same Day Sealer to assist in providing enhanced curing properties. The high resin content acts as a skin to help slow the moisture loss from the slab, and in so doing, enhance the strength of the concrete.
Due to the softness of the resin, Same Day Sealer does not provide adequate long term abrasion resistance. We recommend that two coats of either CCS Hardseal Advanced or CCS Hi-Build Enduro should be applied 7 days after the application of Same Day Sealer.
Recommended uses
- Plain Concrete
- Full Depth Coloured Concrete
- Exposed Concrete and Stencilled Concrete
These surfaces should then be sealed after a minimum of 7 days with 2 coats of CCS Hardseal Advanced or CCS Hi-Build Enduro Sealer.
Note: Allow freshly laid concrete to dry for at least 7 days prior to application of the CCS finishing acrylic sealer such as CCS Hardseal Advanced, Hardseal Matt and Hi-Build Enduro.
Coverage
For application where one coat is applied, coverage is approximately 5m2 per litre depending on the porosity of the surface.
Application Method
Apply CCS Same Day Sealer to freshly laid concrete once concrete has cured enough to be walked on.
Note: CCS Same Day Sealer should be applied on the same day as the concrete was placed. This product is best applied using a solvent resistant low-pressure sprayer.
Curing
Curing time depends on the temperature. The sealer is usually touch dry in 20 minutes at 25ºC.
Note: Do not apply the finishing acrylic sealer if concrete is patchy in appearance. Often these are signs that the concrete may require further curing time.
Clean up
Wash all equipment thoroughly in CCS Solvent and allow to dry.
